Nerd Alert: For the longest time I thought Retsina was a grape. Then as I researched this grape, I learned Retsina is a white wine with it’s own protected designation of origin that on the island of Rhodes, Greece it is made from Athiri. Some relate it’s name to be a modern take on Theriaki, an ancient grape variety appearing in many historical wine-related documents.

Personal Note: Another one of those wines I had during the lockdown in a virtual tasting. I have to say one of the things I don’t like about this individual drinking is that when we are trying new things with just the one bottle, I can’t share the experience of trying something new. When it comes to wines, I think that’s one of the things I miss the most.
